When it comes to the subject of unreleased songs, The Beach Boys are in a class of their own, having more songs in the vault than most other bands have released in a lifetime Which is not to say they're all sparkling gems (think "Wrinkles", or "Battle Hymn Of The Republic"...), but by common consent there lurks within the archive several albums worth of good-to-excellent unreleased material. How do we know this ? Well, The Beach Boys are also in a class of their own when it comes to having leaky archives (which, from my point of view, is a good thing). The list below has been compiled from many sources over the years and, as with most of this site, sprang from an earlier, stillborn project. As it stand, it is woefully incomplete, thus contributions and corrections are more than usually welcome at the usual address (bellagio@btinternet.com). All contributors will be duly acknowledged: thus far, thanks must go to Brad Elliott, Peter Reum, Mike Grant, Alan Boyd, Raymond J. McCarthy, Peter Whitfield, Jon Hunt, John Barone, Dan Addington and several others who must, of necessity, remain anonymous. The format is as follows: Title (composers) - date recorded - lead vocal (in order of appearence if there is more than one lead vocalist). Caveat - this is one, loooooooong page - much scrolling required. Note [6/16/08]: the reissue of Pacific Ocean Blue including material from the Bambu sessions has, of course, resulted in about 20 titles being removed from the list of Dennis' unreleased material.
