x
1
Part of the Inaugural celebrations for new president Ronald Regan.
2
Carl's last show with the band until April 1982.
3
  Broadcast live on WNEW-FM
4
Show followed a Surfs Soccer game.
5
Adrian Baker guested at these shows before officially joining on the 20th.
6
Broadcast live on Q107-FM. Not one of their better shows.
7
Televised live nationally, this is very possibly the worst show The Beach Boys have
ever played: they weren't just bad, they were shocking. Carl, watching from his
hotel room on tour, simply said "it was painful".
8
During this show, Brian threw a tantrum, punched his mike and stormed offstage:
reportedly Mike & Dennis had a backstage fistfight as well.
9
David Marks sat in on this Mike Love/Endless Summer Beach Band gig.
10
This cruise was also Mike's honeymoon with his new bride of nine days, Kathy
Martinez. In exchange for one show and some meet & greets, the whole band
got an all-in 10-day cruise to Mexico and back.
11
Half the backing band missed the show because of engine problems with the BBs
jet - they hired a small charter plane but had to leave some people behind (including
Bobby Figueroa). The drummer from opening act Red Rider sat in.
12
Special show for the University of Miami.
13
At this gig three sheriff's deputies were manhandled by security for taking photos:
they later sued the group and were awarded 5 million in December 1985.
14
Although touring, Dennis didn't play this show as he had food poisoning.
15
This was the residency that breached UN anti-aparthied sanctions: it's an
indication of the band's standing and mindset in 1981 that not only did they not
play their 20th anniversary show in Los Angeles but also that no-one really seemed
to care that they broke the UN embargo anyway. Brian & Dennis made the trip,
  but not Carl, of course.
